drill holes for the Main Handrail Bases and Stanchions, the Coupler Cut Bar and Pilot Grabiron and Railing. |
| These parts make up the Main
Railing Bending Template. The 1/32" plex parts are glued to the base by the modeler. The railings are bent from .020 wire, trimmed off at the edge of the plex base to give the correct length, then the intermediate stanchions can be soldered (or glued) to the underside of the railing and also trimmed to length using the edges of the plex base. The round holes allow for soldering (or gluing), and preventing the parts from sticking to the baseplate during fabrication. |

Drilling Template. This piece locates the Hood Access & Sander Hatches. Also, the Hood Railing Locating/Drilling Holes are provided. Additionally, the trapezoidal piece is used to form the Pilot Beam Railing. |

together to be used to trim the Pilot (Cow-Catcher) Tube Rods to proper length and to form the bend in the two center "tubes" to fit under the coupler. |

Roof Detail Set This set contains the wooden parts required for making the Ft. Dodge, Des Moines & Southern Cab Roof Details. The curved Formers are cut from 1/32" Plywood with pre-cut notches for ease of assembly. The "matting" is cut from sticky backed 1/64" plywood. Note the locating tabs that hold each strip in place. The backing paper is simply peeled off and each strip "nests" into place between the tabs on the curved part of the Formers. Once the matting is pressed in place, the tiny tabs are easily cut with an X-Acto knife, the outside wood frame is pulled away leaving the strips attached in perfect alignment. |
| The wooden Running Boards seen at left, are cut from sticky backed 1/32" plywood. The slots accept the tabs on the flat spot of the Formers (seen at right) allowing for ease of assembly and alignment of parts. |
